At EBGE 2026, the Greek Communication Design Awards, Air Balloon was recognised with a Merit in the Self-Promotion Websites category.
It’s a moment we’re proud of. Among more than 400 agencies and creative teams from across Greece and Cyprus, we found ourselves on the same stage as some of the most respected names in the industry, and we held our own.
Usually we are praised for work we’ve made for someone else. This one is different. The project being recognised is our own website. The place where we have to answer the hardest brief a creative studio ever takes on: who are we, really?
Our site was never meant to simply state who we are. It was built to show how we think, how we work, and how we turn ideas into experiences with strategy, aesthetics and substance. That’s why this recognition feels personal: it’s a nod to our identity itself.
What’s behind the screen
The website is a fully custom design, built on a bespoke WordPress theme so that nothing about its look or behaviour is boxed in by off-the-shelf templates. Custom animations give the experience flow and life, echoing the creative spirit of the studio.
We paid close attention to the journey from curious visitor to conversation, keeping the path to getting in touch refreshingly simple. We also built the site to be inclusive, with a dedicated accessibility layer that makes our content usable for people with disabilities, in line with modern accessibility standards.
Just as importantly, the structure puts our people front and centre and gives real space to our ESG work, like the Ostrakon Project. We believe design should serve more than aesthetics; it should carry social and environmental responsibility too.
The goal was a digital experience that’s technically sharp, socially conscious and unmistakably us. Because, as our homepage puts it: people shape the world, and ideas shape people.

The EBGE (Greek Communication Design Awards) have celebrated the best of visual communication since 1998, which makes them one of the longest-standing design institutions in the region. Every year they bring together and honour outstanding creative work from across Greece and Cyprus.
